This looks the nuts. Beautiful trailer and like Lord Bling says, “If this plays half as well as it looks, we could be looking at 2013′s game of the year”

I had very very high hopes for this game…
and I was left a little disappointed There was so many influences in this game from a number of great titles including Hitman, Fable, Deus Ex, Bioshock, Thief and Half life but I can say Dishonored never hit the heights of any
of those games. Having said that, Dishonored was still a great game.
You play Corvo who is the personal bodyguard of the Empress who gets assassinated and her daughter and heir is kidnapped. You are framed for her murder and thrown in jail for the crime. On the day of your execution you are rescued and given the chance to clear your name.
Each level you are given a target to assassinate and there are various ways to complete this task, you can even use non lethal means (career assassination for example). This reminded me of Hitman and the various pathways are fun to find. You can go all out attack, guns blazing, stealthy and silent or a mixture of both.
The look of the game reminded me of Fable 3 with a steam punk Victorian world and also Half Life kept coming to mind with a silent main character, long legged walker enemies and just a “feel” that reminded me of Valve’s masterpiece.
Combat was slightly reminiscent of Bioshock, with a power or magic in one hand and the staple bladed weapon in the other. Different powers were handy in different situations, either to call on a swarm of rats, possession a guard or animal to get past a road block or a teleportation ability to zoom around the level.
The story was ok if a bit predictable, but I never cared about any of the characters which didnt give me much replay factor when I finished the game. Having said that there is plenty of replay factor as the game rewards for playing the game both stealth and guns blazing. As I got the Chaos achievement I need to replay to get the Ghost achievement but I just dont want to. The game doesnt have the draw. I found the stealth sections not enjoyable as there was no clear sign if you were going to get spotted or not, so you thought you were safe but often you were not. This lead to some frustrating sections and in the end I just ended up attacking as it was easier.
Playing it more to my style which was a bit of both (stealth and Guns blazing) it was enjoyable for me but I dont think I will be able to play the game to its full potential.
Overall a great game and has some great moments but not as good as the hype surrounding this game at the moment.
